How to Reverse Your Seasonal Allergies Naturally

Help others heal by sharing!

If you’re suffering from seasonal allergies right now, you’re definitely not alone.

The sneezing, congestion, itchy eyes, post-nasal drip, and constant sinus irritation can make this time of year miserable. But what if seasonal allergies weren’t something you had to suffer through every year?

I used to struggle with seasonal allergies myself. Today, I haven’t experienced seasonal allergy symptoms in over 10 years, and I’ve helped hundreds of clients reduce or completely reverse their symptoms using the same approach.

What Really Causes Seasonal Allergies?

Most people are told that pollen is the problem.

While pollen is certainly the trigger, the bigger question is: why is your immune system reacting so strongly to it?

According to Medical Medium information, seasonal allergies are often connected to an underlying low-grade strep infection in the sinuses. Your immune system is already working hard to keep that infection under control. Then, when pollen enters the picture, the body can overreact, creating the histamine response that leads to allergy symptoms.

The good news is that when you support the immune system and address the underlying issue, your seasonal allergies improve dramatically!

The Best Herbs for Seasonal Allergies

When allergy symptoms flare up, there are several herbs that can help calm inflammation, support the immune system, and reduce histamine reactions.

My favorite herbs for seasonal allergies include:

  • Nettle
  • Eyebright
  • Elderflower
  • Lemon Balm
  • Rose Hips

These herbs work beautifully together as a long-steeped herbal infusion.

For additional immune support, I also recommend herbs such as:

  • Goldenseal
  • Olive Leaf
  • Cat’s Claw

These herbs are often used to help address the underlying immune burden that may be contributing to seasonal allergies.

A Simple Herbal Infusion for Allergy Season

One of my favorite tools is a daily herbal infusion.

Simply combine one tablespoon each of nettle, eyebright, elderflower, lemon balm, and rose hips in about four cups of hot water. Allow the herbs to steep for several hours or overnight.

This long infusion extracts more minerals, nutrients, and medicinal compounds from the plants than a quick cup of tea.

Drinking two to four cups throughout the day can provide powerful support during allergy season.

Foods That Help Reduce Allergy Symptoms

Food can be incredibly supportive when it comes to calming inflammation and supporting the immune system.

Some of my favorite foods during allergy season include:

  • Wild blueberries
  • Cranberries
  • Broccoli
  • Raw local honey

Raw local honey may help expose the body to small amounts of local pollen over time, potentially supporting a more balanced immune response.

I also recommend reducing or eliminating dairy and gluten whenever possible. Dairy can increase mucus production, while gluten is believed to feed the underlying strep that may be contributing to allergy symptoms.

Supporting Your Body Beyond Herbs

One of the most powerful ways to support your body during allergy season is by increasing your intake of healing foods and hydration.

I often recommend starting the day with the Medical Medium morning cleanse:

  • Lemon water
  • Celery juice
  • A large fruit smoothie, ideally the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie

Adding adrenal snacks throughout the day and focusing on plenty of leafy greens, fruits, vegetables, and healing fluids can help create an environment where the body can heal more effectively.

Seasonal Allergies Don’t Have to Be Forever

I’ve seen many people significantly improve their seasonal allergies without needing to rely entirely on medications.

You don’t have to do everything perfectly! Start where you are. Add more healing foods. Bring in a few supportive herbs. Reduce the foods that may be making symptoms worse. Every step helps.

Seasonal allergies are often a sign that the body needs additional support, and when we listen to those signals and respond appropriately, powerful healing can happen.
