This post shares how to overcome your self-limiting beliefs that you’ve engrained and start manifesting the life you’ve desired.
I’m too old.
I’m too sick.
I am not educated enough.
I could never make that much money.
Does your inner dialogue sound anything like this? This isn’t just innocent chatter in your mind – these are called self-limiting beliefs.
Long story short, self-limiting beliefs hold us back.
Say, you want to start a healing business to help people. You may think that you don’t have the credentials. Maybe you feel that you don’t have enough training or enough experience. You may think you haven’t healed yourself enough to help others.
These beliefs are telling you that you can’t get from Point A to Point B.
Self-limiting beliefs come from the ego, and they serve to keep us in these tiny spaces. The ego says, “You are safe here. Let’s just stay here.“
Meanwhile, the Universe says, “Grow, expand, reach, stretch. Take in more, take up more space in life, experience more. Have more joy.”
The universal energy, or our higher selves, want us to expand and experience all of the beautiful things that physical life has to offer.
Whereas the ego, or the limiting beliefs, want us to stay here, get smaller, conserve, and not take risks.
How Are Limited Beliefs Created?
Self-limiting beliefs can come from childhood. They could be from something someone told you or a memory that you’ve hung onto.
Also, you might not realize it, but limiting beliefs often come from collective programming, especially but not limited to healing.
Once you’re on prescription medication, what do you hear? You hear that you’ll be on it forever. That you will always have a thyroid condition. That you’ll always have high blood pressure. There’s nothing you can do about it.
Meanwhile, we know that isn’t true.
Hundreds of thousands of people have healed all sorts of conditions in miraculous ways. All of that healing is available to each and every one of us if we can get our limiting beliefs out of the way.
You can heal your body on incredible levels. You can achieve any goal or dream. Yes, you can attract the partner of your dreams. You can build a 6-figure, 7-figure, or 8-figure business.
None of these things are outside of our accessibility.
If you can dream it, if you can desire it, if you can feel it and want it, then it’s what your soul desires.
Limiting beliefs are the things that hold us back from all expansiveness. They also hold us back from reaching all of our goals and desires.
How Do You Get Rid of Limiting Beliefs?
Ask yourselves what your limiting beliefs are.
Realize what they are, and then acknowledge that they are limiting beliefs.
Over the past few months, I’ve been sharing a lot of personal stories about my growth and expansion over the past year. In doing so, I’ve heard many people tell me, “Of course you did that, but I can’t do that.”
No! That’s another layer of limiting belief of ego. You are seeing me as someone separate from you. When in actuality, you are no different than me.
I am exactly like you. You are exactly like me.
When we see people who have something that we wish we had – a level of physical health, a level of financial abundance, a level of support, a level of relationship, realize it is your soul’s desire to experience it.
Know that when your soul desires it, it is already in some way accessible to you.
Manifesting Your Desires
Your mission is to get super clear on what you want.
It’s just like when you order delivery food. You have to go on the internet or your phone, type in what you want, hit order, and then wait for it to show up.
The same thing happens when you want something in your life. When you want a new way of being or a new experience, you have to place an order.
Universe, here’s my order.
A super way to do this is to write it down. Make a list of what it is you want and desire. Be sure to get super clear and give as many details as possible.
I manifested many of my desires through a simple Pinterest board. I pinned images of the bathroom I wanted, the kitchen I wanted, the kitten I wanted, and what I wanted in a relationship.
So, get super clear about what it is you want and desire.
I have more instructions for manifesting your desires here.
How To Overcome Self-Limiting Beliefs
Here’s how to overcome self-limiting beliefs.
Watch for when those limiting beliefs come up.
Ahh, that’s just a limiting belief.
I’m not old. I’m youthful in spirit.
No, I’m not too sick. I hear stories of people healing from much worse than what I’m dealing with.
When self-limiting beliefs come up, you can also think about why they are there.
Did someone tell you in childhood about this? Am I tapping into the collective beliefs? Am I tapping into the programming from the mainstream media, the pharmaceutical industry, or family history where everyone was overweight or sick their whole lives?
It’s not always important to identify the source, but sometimes that does help you to realize that this thought you’ve been carrying around is just a set of beliefs.
When self-limiting beliefs pop up, catch them, and change them. You’ll notice that you start to catch it earlier and earlier each time.
Eventually, that thought starts to fade away.
As that thought starts to change, and your beliefs about life start to change, you’ll start to change your vibration.
This is where the magic happens.
The things you experience in your external world will also start to change because your external world starts to reflect your internal world.
So, don’t let those limiting beliefs stop you!
Don’t believe them.
They are just a story. Thoughts and beliefs are just energy.
Self-Limiting Beliefs Take-Aways
When you see or you hear something that you want, write it down.
Or make a vision board.
Believe in it.
Know that it’s already yours because it’s part of what your soul desires.
Then, catch those self-limiting thoughts one-at-a-time.
You’ll watch them fade away.
Then, tell me all about it because I love to hear about your successes!
