What if I’m afraid of failing at this plan?

You can’t fail! I promise. Remember this isn’t a just another ‘diet’ with rules. It’s a healing plan completely customized to your individual needs and lifestyle. You and I will work together to implement one change at a time, so it’s not overwhelming.

It is possible that we implement something and it doesn’t work for you. That doesn’t mean you failed. It just means it wasn’t the right thing for you. We’ll find the right thing that feels simple and easily fits into your routine. The healing plan will grow, adjust, and become part of your life in a gentle, but powerful way. Most people feel so good, they have no interest in returning to old habits.

What if I’m afraid of being judged?

If you’ve felt judged by your healthcare practitioners in the past, you’re not alone. I’ve heard countless stories from clients about healthcare practitioners who didn’t listen. Practitioners who told them to lose the weight (without hearing how hard they’ve already tried to do that). Practitioners who’ve said the symptoms are all in your head, there’s nothing wrong with you. Practitioners who don’t understand.

I know what it’s like to live in a body that you are ashamed of. I know what it’s like to live in fear of judgement, to want to hide, to never speak up. I lived like that for a long time. I don’t want anyone to ever feel the way I felt. Because of that, I promise you that I come from a place of zero judgement. I am highly empathetic and I can feel your suffering. I would never want to add to that, only to help you heal and feel your best.

How are you different than other nutritionists or healthcare practitioners?

I will listen to your story. I will never judge you. I will always support you. I will ask your opinion before we implement any changes. I will explain everything, so you understand and feel confident. These are my promises to you.

I understand you are suffering. Illness is not your fault. You didn’t ask for it. You didn’t do anything wrong to deserve it. Know that healing is possible.

I want you to heal. I want you to be able to live your most vibrant life. I grow to deeply love all my clients. I honor your healing journey. I know it’s not easy, but I know you can do it.

How long will it take to get better?

The more resources you have to dedicate to healing, the more likely you will see results sooner, however healing is a process that takes time. That time table depends on a lot of factors, but in general:

6-12 weeks: You’ll start to see changes in a positive direction. (Many experience more energy, better sleep, and a more generalized feeling of wellness & positivity.)

6 months: The goal is 50% reduction in symptoms.

12 months: The goal is 90% reduction in symptoms.

2 years: Aiming for you to be ‘healthy’ and stay that way on a maintenance plan.

Do you have weight loss plans?

Not exactly…I am a firm believer that excess weight is a symptom of some other underlying root cause. Focusing on the symptom (excess weight) only tends to push the root cause even more out of balance and cause more weight gain, which is what commonly happens with dieting. That root cause could be a stagnant liver, stress, toxic burden in the body, imbalance of neurotransmitters in the brain, glucose deficiency, or some other cause. I focus on figuring out and correcting the root causes. When you correct the root cause, the weight tends to fall away naturally without effort. Many people experience weight loss when working through my programs, however that is not the focus and I ask all my clients to put away their scale while working with me. When we get you well nourished, feeling more energized, and giving the body the rest it needs, weight comes back into natural balance without dieting or restriction. This takes time and patience.

Is this plan vegan?

I do not subscribe to any philosophy other than whole foods, plant based. The more whole, plant foods you can eat, the more quickly you will heal. That does not mean you have to be vegan, or rawist, or vegetarian, or anything. You will choose what feels right for you based on the feedback you get from your own body. Some people choose to reduce or eliminate meat as a means of promoting healing, while others continue to eat some lean meat. As always, your plan is completely individual to you.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept medical insurance. I run a personalized service, where I see a maximum of only 3 clients per day. Billing insurance would take away much of the time I dedicate to customizing plans for my clients. If you would like to seek coverage for nutrition services, I can provide you documentation, called a superbill, that you can submit for reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and will depend on your insurance provider & plan.
