I used to love this oily pesto. It was one of my absolute favorites.
Yet, after following a low fat plant-based diet, it doesn’t make me feel good. So, I created this basil asparagus recipe. It is light and refreshing without all the fat.
It is packed with the freshest and healthiest ingredients – including asparagus and sprouts, which are powerhouses of nutrients.
Also included is fresh garlic, raw spinach, basil, raw honey, and a tiny bit of salt. The basil asparagus pesto is fully raw, making it one of the healthiest recipes you’ll find.
Besides being the healthiest and most delicious pesto out there, it is also super easy to make. You just add all the ingredients to the blender and blend!
This basil asparagus pesto is dairy-free, gluten-free, and grain-free.
It can even be made fat-free, if you omit the small amount of olive oil.
This basil pesto can be used on grilled veggies or seared cauliflower. It is delicious over pasta. Or, you can even use it as a spread on sandwiches.

- 8 Stalks asparagus
- 1 cup spinach, fresh, raw
- 2 Tbsp basil, fresh, raw
- 1/2 cup sprouts
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice, fresh squeezed
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1 Tbsp raw honey
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 Tbsp olive oil omit for a fat free version
